Illustrations based on an ancient poem of the Hani peoples in Yunnan province of China. The poem is a chronology of Hani people's migration and adaptation to the environment. This work depicts events such as hunting and gathering.
The ancient literatures of the Hani peoples reflect their traditional ecological knowledge. I choose one of the poems, illustrated the chapters, printed them out, cut them into puzzle pieces. My colleagues assembled the "puzzles", each of the groups formed their own understanding, their own narrative. Through this playful process, they were introduced to the ecological wisdom of the Hani Peoples.
